What Is the Nazareth Vow?
In the book of numbers, there is this thing called the nazarite vow. Normally they did not last for one's entire life. It involved not touching strong drink or anything of the fruit of the vine. At the end of that time, however far your hair has grown, you would cut it off and put it on the altar as part of the sacrifice. The ironic blessing is after a priestly benediction: "The lord make his staht upon you"
