Chi-Ji Guang and the History of the Portuguese in China
In 1557, the Portuguese were given permission to establish a permanent settlement on Macau with a rent of 500 tales of silver per year. As an encore to his achievements against the Japanese pirates, Chi-Ji Guang was sent up north to deal with the Mongols.
