The Railways Changed Everything in the 19th Century
The railways changed just about everything in the 19th century. It's very difficult to think of any anything that the railways didn't change. They created commuting for example and enabled department stores to send out like harrods to send out goods all around the country by rail so your listener is spot on it's no exaggeration to say they change everything and so on.
