The Mystery of the Chestworth Roman Villa
We don't know where the wealth came from, chedworth. Usually with a villa, you would have evidence of quite a large estate around it. It does seem that this particular area was thriving in the third, fourth century of roman britain. And that manifestation of that surplus wealth was seen in the creation of villas. There's not enough detail of those villas excavations to be able to date them specifically.
