Zhou Enlai's Life Story
After the Nanjing massacre and after the Japanese grabbed that city for their own purposes, the nationalist government moved to Wuhan. In October 1938, the capital gets moved again further west to the city of Chongqing. This will be Zhou Enlai's role representing the Communists in this wartime capital. Joe was tireless in the way he reached out to the intelligentsia and technocrats who weren't with him but also not against him.
