The Prognosis of Adult Hip Dysplasia
There is an increased risk of hip dislocation after arthroplasty, specifically 5 to 10%, especially when a high hip center is used. Patients with acetabular dysplasia who undergo arthroscopic procedures of the hip have been found to have significantly greater rates of surgical failure as compared to those without. Arthroscopic management may be considered in borderline or mild dysplasia and labor repair has been shown to improve functional outcomes.
