The Importance of Care in the Old Testament

The Bible often gets a really bad rap about being anti-woman and uber-patriarchal. But it does often make provisions for the care of daughters, wives who are in this particular culture, often overlooked and have things taken away from them. In Israel, there was always concern for men, women, sons, daughters, widows, widowers. No one was to be simply treated as if they didn't matter.
