Are These Artists Being Paid?
Historians have tried to work out why cartoonists were making these prints. Were they doing it because they believed in the Tory party or the weak, weak ideas? The answer is a mixture of both and I could give you examples either way. There are points where we know that some of them were paid to make certain prints. So for example, Guillerre was paid by Pitt's government at one point. But yeah, it's really interesting and the more that you look at their intentions and their ideas behind it, it's even more complicated.
