The History of the Freemasons
The Freemasons are a fraternal organization based off of 13th century stone-cutters and masons. Evidence suggests that Freemasonry and its rituals began around the 16th century in Scotland before moving across the continent in the 18th. The group held secret meetings in groups called Lodges. Lodge membership varied, but each lodge was controlled by a master.
