The History of Charleston

The garden has many elements, including an African origins garden where you'll see some of the plants that came with African captives and are now prevalent in the southern part of the United States. There's space also for bringing history as it were up to date. You have artifacts. We did ask you to prepare an artifact to describe and discuss and tell the story behind it. This piece is special to me because we were in the middle of installing our artifacts in the building before they opened. And I kind of wanted to do something different in one of the cases. Let's think about this story in a different way.
