The Origin of Mass Media
When did mass media begin? You could go as far back as the gutenberg revolution itself. But really, i think mass media as we understand and know it to day started to emerge in the late nineteenth century with the maturation of telegraphy. The 19 27 radio act, the 19 34 communications act are debates that resound with us to this very day. I've often said the internet revolution is the biggest thing since the g Gutenberg revolution but may not even be there yet. As we go forward with technologies that we can scarcely imagine, only now can we start reconceptualizing or our view of the world.
