The Joy of Knowing Jesus

The letter of Philippi is a good reminder for Christians that we are called to be joyful people. What makes this letter so striking is that whilst planning this most joyful letter, Paul was himself in chains. It's because Paul had come to know Jesus and fundamentally knowing Jesus had transformed, it changed, it altered Paul's life. How did Paul realize how to actualize what knowing Jesus looked like in his life? And the two things that were kind of apparent to me as I was preparing: first the knowing Jesus redirects our boasting and secondly knowing Jesus reshapes our desires and what we pursue.
