After winning the Battle of Hastings, does William try to make a difference? Does William transfer his residence permanently to England? No, he doesn't. He was Duke of Normandy and King of England with responsibilities to each of these areas. Whenever he was in one part of his realm, he had to leave a regent to act on his behalf in the other. Although he was crowned in late 1066, he was not yet secure on the throne.
