Eric Schmitz: "Equity-minded" means mindful of inequities that are affecting our students. Cultural responsiveness means using examples and practices that don't privilege certain ways of knowing, he says. Both terms require an intentionality; you can't be equity-minded when it's convenient or easy, Schmitz says.
