The Salem witch trials were held in 1680. The town of salem and its neighbouring towns had strong community ties. Historians have attempted to map out this dense web of social connections. Professor gibson says it's a really existing neighborhood, yet they're also quite fractious. These are individuals headed all the way round the world to argue with each other.
