The Importance of Translation in Translation
The book is called Matato anti-Stranzi, which the literal translation is apparently the method against shit. The French title was really, really strong and it had every synonym for assholes in the subtitle. It sold well in France, but I'll give you an example of one where it didn't work in Spain. So my Spanish editor wanted to call it El Stupido and he called it El stupido and it sold badly. He later wrote back and said I was right. So the translation does matter.
