It always seemed to me that I had some very lucky chances really. My supervisor was a great historian called Bruce MacFarlane who was a medieval historian. He gave me pupils from modeling and sent them to me because he helped out with the moneyreally. When did I start feeling it really mattered? I think probably long after I left university really.I never finished a book really because you had so much to do. I just found I never had a letter to read all of a book when I wanted to do.
