The 27 Club

Pink Pam died of an internal hemorrhage brought on by too much alcohol consumption in March 1973. He was 27, and this leads me to another thing: There is an utterly panicious concept called the 27 Club based around the fact that several musicians died at that age. Musicians are no more likely to die age 27 than at any other age. This is talented, often troubled young people scarcely more than children dying in horrible ways. I will have no part, however small, in adding to the belief that great art requires self-destruction or that one should die young and leave a beautiful corpse.
