I really hope I help people understand why she might have made that choice to be bricked up for the rest of her life in a cell next to a church. Her words about motherhood, maybe she knew what that felt like from the inside. So, yes, it's an imagination. But the other thing about that event is that this was a second or third wave of the pestilence, as they called it in the 14th century,. which specifically took away children and young men. And for Julian then to try and make sense of the guilt she feels, that changes completely when she has the revelations.
