Roy Ridgeway was a young man growing up in in london at the start of the war quite shy and quite nervous but kind of a convinced a convinced pacifist. He refused to put on the uniform that led to him being arrested and detained and caught marshaled. Roy spent time in prison before eventually being released for his actions which enabled him to do what he wanted to do all along - help heal the sick and wounded you say.
