The common law would govern once you find a venue within the United States where you can get minimum contact sufficient to get personal jurisdiction over the cruise line or the gambling purveyors. If they just take your money or something like that, you're at risk of being put out of court. But I'm not going to say that's going to happen. Obviously, the world has changed a lot since the 1530s.
