The Impact of the Pandemic on Tipping
When writers swipe their credit cards and were presented with a tip screen, 97% of them tipped. When taxi cab providers raised the default tip suggestions, tips went up from 17.45% to 18.84%. But also, Donkor found that when cab companies pushed the pre-selected numbers too high, consumers rebelled. And it was more likely that people would write in their own amount rather than check from the pre- selected numbers.
