In the 19 twenties, there were tens of thousands of war memorials being constructed in britain. The genius of the te cemeteries was their their uniformity. So you could still either go to london for on pilgrimage, or celebrate, or not celebrate me parte. Almost every one of british descent has an ancestor who served in the armed forces in the first world war. There are mantelpieces across country that wolt have become shrines to thosew who are missing, who are fallen.
