Public Schools Are Not Accountable to the Public
90% of students in the united states are in public schools. But if you include charter schools, it's closer to 87%. If you look at purely government run schools, even less,. Even though they're not really a public in any meaningful sense of the word. They're not accountable to the public. I don't really see democratic accountability as a strong form of accountability. As we've seen over the past year ith school board meetings, doesn't really lead to better outcomes for the kids in the schools.
