The Black Man and the Wounded World

In 1936, Du Bois traveled overseas. He saw with his own eyes the seeds of a possible Second World War on the horizon. And by early 1937, he is advocating anybody who would listen to take these warning calls seriously. By 1940, when he does decide that he is no longer going to continue to write, The Black Man and the Wounded World, the Second World War has erupted. It was a tragic blow for Black America, but also a very tragic blow for Du Bois personally.
