The Gothic Revival in Architecture

The first gothic novel is thought to be horace walpole's the castle atranto, which is 17 64. There was a huge boom in a gothic, or what they were call terror novels in the 17 nineties. And then there's often an argument that the gothic kind of goes away or disperses into other forms. So it kind of enters into bit of dickens here and there, abit of wilkie collins. Then it really comes storming back in the late nineteenth century with jecklan hyde or dracula,. All fort of monstrous modern horrors that emerge at the end of the nineteenth century.
