Refining Capacity in North America

There's a 40 year trend from 1982 to today where refining capacity is going way down. In 1982, there were 301 refineries in the US now or in 2021, there were 129. I think Saudi Arabia is the number one owner of refining capacity in North America. It really helps the refiners like the restricted supply really goes straight into the refiners pockets.
