The c c p survived several low points, almost being completely exterminated during the twenties and thirties. It was now hunkered down in a scattered number of what were called base areas where it had territorial control. But really it was an amalgam of all kinds of different ideas, different people who party members without any cohesive ideology or really cohesive plan of action at that point. And so i think ma had concluded that if they were to survive, organization was at the core. And was that the core of organization was a strong, disciplined party that would follow a coherent set of beliefs. Nwhatever else ma was, and he was many things, he was also a magnificent story teller
