Is There a Strategy for Inflation Busting Wages?
Three members of the m pc, of the nine member committee, voted for 50 basis points. They want to send a strong signal not to pay inflation busting wage settlements. But they're already doing passive c t and are not reinvesting existing gilt holdings. The bank will make a decision on this in august. It's effectively er burning money, isn't it? If geno, the bank of england, created the money to buy those bonds in the first place, then it's money distruction.
