How to Opt in to Search 702 Databases
FBI gets less than 4% of 702 collection in the first place, but what they get, which has to be linked to predicated investigations. They were searching it inadvertently. So they overhauled the system interface. Now there are these warnings that pop up and you must click in. You must say, I want 702 information. That's a major change. It's eliminated the inadvertent ones. There are also other steps FBI has taken, like that higher level review,. We've also increased training requirements for those who do make a mistake. If there's another mistake, it may lose access entirely to 702 information. All of that matters.
