Autistic Boys and Girls
Autistic women and some men tell us that they work very hard to appear neurotypical, non-autistic. Autistic boys often have unusual interests such as Thomas the Tank Engine for a 15-year-old boy. They might pick a woman in their workplace who seems to be socially successful and copy everything about her. It's a way perhaps to try and just camouflage into the environment around you - or what are more normative ways of being, I guess.
