The American Left Hasn't Been More Actively Internationalist
The US left doesn't have enemy combatants that they're going to directly express solidarity with. The humanity of Iraqis and Afghans was just something that couldn't really emerge, right? Because there was no political movement there to identify with. And so the US violence is just as objectionable and wrong, but the entire kind of world systemic framework that once sustained internationalism has radically changed.
