Chief Bessit, Is It Time for You to Step Down?
In your new book, you talk about your decision to resign just over a year ago as the chief of police in seattle. Why didn't you decide to step down? Ye, willy, it was really essentially the fact that i could not stand by why they decided to a reduced the number of officers in the department. It did nothing to enhance or increase public safety, and there was no real plan for how we were going to address crime issues.
