To what extent do you feel like this is also a story about the medical profession in thinking especially about Black Americans? So yeah, that's an interesting question. And that was not a focus of my book. It's certainly the case that those who really fought for those who fought to make diabetes visible in populations of color tended to be individuals from those populations Who managed to break into what had been primarily a white profession and advocate for people who look like them.
