The stereotypical narrative of women's sport is that prior to the 1970s, women don't do anything. But I think the narrative that I've uncovered is actually much more complicated. And it suggests that we go through periods of progress and backlash in terms of women's rights and women's presence in sport. The aim of the book is to question kind of where we are now. You know, are we in a period of progress? Are we continuing that upward trajectory?"
