The lesson from water can be applied to a number of other resources, whether we're talking about timber or grasslands. If we look at our current rules, our current laws in the west, the governed resource use, if we allow for those competing demands to negotiate and cooperate rather than litigate, it's going to actually be good for the environment and good for these communities.
