Are You Safe? Are You Going to Survive?
The primary goal of a human infant is to maintain proximity to the caregiver for survival reasons. The question is always, am I safe? Am I going to survive? And it's very visceral and primal at that very young age. So you can see these things happening. As they grow older, this is where people get interested. They may be experiencing certain kinds of things in their relationships. But they don't maybe have a name for what's happening.
