The Importance of Patriotism

It's almost as if Isaac is slanderous in his fears. He thinks these people are much worse than they actually are. And he ends up basically slandering them because he's accusing them of something, which turns out not only didn't happen, but their actions prove that they're praiseworthy people. It's one more glowing example of patriarchal piety. We see this over and over.
