The State of the City, a Pamphlet

The new york times asked me to write a pamphlet. It was essentially the kind o a momentoo, an intersticial moment because it was post riot and in middle of austerity. I wanted more than anything to try to contain the sense of what that moment felt like in a non fictional way. And so this gets to your point, wanting to try and draw on the kind of sinclarian, you know, london tradition at the same time as making it much more overtly political.
