The Three Main Points That Define Religion in Ancient Egypt
There were various cult centers. Not all gods actually had a cult center and some quite important gods didn't. These cult centers then again become economic institutions. And I think the situation in Egypt would have been very much like that. The way it changes from place to place and over time, so you can get the same god being worshipped in different places in different ways. We can't expect over three thousand years of the dynastic age that worship was exactly the same.
