The US President's First Visit to the Quad
This will be the first visit by US president since Barack Obama. It's expected to come a day or so after he signs a new defence cooperation agreement with Papua New Guinea, which basically gives US warships and aircrafts access to PNG waters. China had signed a security agreement with the Solomon Islands last year. So clearly the US is muscling into the region, which it believes to be of some strategic importance.
