In the 70s, when we were first doing addiction research, there was a disagreement between the psychiatric community or the psychiatrists and the addiction therapists. The way that it was typically talked about is what you said, is this just people behaving badly? Or is there an addiction going on? And then there was a shift and it happened about the time that Tiger Woods and all of his sexual addiction stuff came to light. We are seeing that people need the criteria for sex addiction.
