The Bolsheviks Decided to Kill the Tsar and His Family
Following the two revolutions of 1917, ultimately the Bolsheviks decided to murder the Tsar and his family. Why did they decide to do this? This is a very complex issue, but in order to explain it simply, the reason why the Romanovs couldn't be allowed to survive was part of a policy to basically expunge the entire aristocracy,. The only way that the revolution could really be ultimately successful was if there was no surviving threat to it from any member of the imperial family.
