Unpatched IoT and OT Devices Attract ICS Cyber Attacks
New research has looked at public IoT and OT cyber incidents over the past six months. Various threat actors have unleashed a barrage of cyber attacks against ICS systems. The report notes manufacturing, water treatment, food and agriculture were most frequently targeted in early 2023. Experts note the reasons for these attacks are one, the need for stability and uptime of those systems; cost of upgrading ICS systems.; incompatibility between updates or new upgrades and older systems.
