Pup survival rates are usually around 50% and last year, I believe it was 67% survival of the pups. Another factor was there was relatively low mortality in 2022. There were only 12 documented mortalities, which was a bit lower than previous years. So that was a positive trend for sure. The population objective is still far too low for the species overall to promote long term viability throughout the Southwest.
