The Year of the Revolution, 19 78
On the seventh of january 19 78, an anonymous government agent publishes an article in a newspaper that insults romeni. Forty days later, as is shia custom, mosques around iran held memorials to these fallen mart es which again turned into violent protests. Once again, amongst the violents, protesters were killed. And so again, forty days later, on the tenth of may, it happened again and again every forty days,. The country was moving into ever greater spasms of protest. The shaw, at this point, is really ed out. My assumption is that romeni was exaggerating for political effect. So we'll never really know the exact numbers.
