László Molnárfi is a community organizer in Ireland. He is a primary contributor to Aontacht Media and formerly Trinity College Dublin Students’ Union President. He describes himself as part of the left but has recently made waves by critiquing the mainstream left.
In our chat, he explains the problems of the mainstream left and the rise of left populism. Fascinately, he argues that populism isn’t a dirty word of the right but something more neutral. He advocates for the left to take up populist causes to better unite the populace while also arguing the intellectual case for the authenticity behind it. We cover current Irish politics, the multinational corporate sector in Ireland, Irish history, our shared appreciation for Angela Nagle’s work, and the trends that will shape Ireland’s 2030 election.
