The Artist's Chapter

Am the artist's chapter was one that i found harder to write in terms of trying to uncover the stories of of artists. I'm more of a literature scholar, but it is just much harder to kind of excavate the stories of artists. We have this wonderful image of these highly skilled artists working collaborately over several decades and absorbing different influences from places in europe. But we don't have any names or dates of birth or death. This is some of the kind of magic of dealing with manuscripts,. That you are able to discern something of their work and and their life, but ultimately their identity remains obscure. Even if they go unnamed and their identity obscure.
