The National Park Service and Predators
McKinley National Park was created to protect primarily the species of dull sheep. The park service had a lot of growing pains, I think, with coming to terms with how they were going to deal with this. A key kind of theme through my talk was Joseph Grinnell's idea of living laboratories where we protect wild lands and wild life as it was.
