SISL and the Benefits of Single Assignment
SISL is an interesting acronym. It stands for streams and iterations in a single assignment language. So they realize the benefits of single assignment. But neither one of them actually requires that your code, the source code, be written as single assignment. None of these things should appear in source code. What they do is cause problems and bugs.
